[young] nearly out - collected. - were hatching in covered nest June 28 Abuntlet Islands. nest - 8 eggs as June 24. nest 10 eggs as " ".} [bracket around previous two lines] family of crows on Islands. July 2 Brood of 10 in Little Anahim. In little Anahim, saw a flightless, eclipse [male symbol]. Lay flat on water; dove for long periods. Alkali flats nest #2 - recent hatched in covered nest #3 11 eggs #4 recently hatched in covered nest #5 " " " " " July 9. Dean river - brood 8 large yg. [young] - (see pintail). [female symbol]'s followed canoe. not as many as pintail but less curious, so perhaps biased criterion. -Abuntlet Islands nest - 10 eggs (see June 24 + 28) has only 5 eggs. July 14. - water too high to reach nest #3. alkali flats. July 23 Pelican LK [Lake] - brood of 9 probably this species
