  • Duncan, B.C. [British Columbia] May 10, 1939. Enemies. Reported to me by Game Warden R.S. Hayes. Several men on their way up the CNR [Canadian National Railway] track on a speeder 2-3 days ago observed a doe in labor. Nearby sat two Ravens. Births. The first fawns seen at Blythes farm near Duncan this year was on May 7. Other fawns had been seen in the vicinity of this village as early as May 2. None have yet been seen near Cowichan Lake. Bruce Cash reports a fawn seen today on the Malahat.
