winter grassland also. Along
the s [south] side of the ridge there is
more winter moose sign than
I have seen anywhere else in
this district.
A well used lick on the E. [East]
bank of the creek we ascended
some half mile up river

Kills 1 moose - old.

Scotch Camp Aug. [August] 15/45 [1945]
Came over the hump from the
Sulphur Springs to Gregson's cache + then
up river to this cabin - time 4 hours
Quite a bit of sheep range - spring
+ autumn alongside the trail, but I
doubt that much of it stays clear
in the winter months.
Lots of elk sign all along the trail
recent + winter. Several shed antlers
Bulls wintering at Scotch camp.
