Victoria, B.C. [British Columbia] Mar. [March] 9 - First flock seen.
Weather bright after some snow.
Mar. [March] 14. Another flight of swallows in
Mar. [March] 30-31 36 dead swallows picked
up near Kemp Lake. Others
brought in from all about
Victoria. Specimens examined
by me were terribly emaciated
Death evidently due to starvation
as a result of the extremely cold
weather that has prevailed
for the last few days.
