In migration this fall I have observed
these sparrows only on the beach +
immediately contiguous. They seem to
be entirely, or almost entirely, insect
eaters. In most cases they travel
singly but in one instance - at
Island View Beach, Oct. [October] 14, 1935 they
were in a small flock + extremely
wild.
