- found a vesper sparrow's
nest and a bluebird's nest,
and saw a pair of cinnamon
teal. He set a recorder on
Mary Fairfield (the new duck
n the second nest box down
Westwick Lake.) He saw large
numbers of Western Tanagers
(including [female symbol] [female symbol]). I saw one
Western Tanager in Williams
Lake sitting on a telephone pole.
The chipping sparrow appears to
be at its height, and Wood
Pewees are to be found in
many places.
Nancy [Mahoney] saw two phalaropes on
Sorenson last night and today.
Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] observed them and
identified them as northern
Phalaropes - 2 [female symbol] [female symbol]. They are
the same as he saw May 15
on Westwick.
Nancy [Mahoney] started building a blind
above Sorenson in the morning,
and watched grebes in the
afternoon. She appointed me
"burger-manager" after dinner.
