On steep face next big hill.
10 [male symbol] 10 [female symbol]. 5 lambs.

Breeding:- [underlined] a few of the rams are already off by
themselves but most are still
with the ewes. + still evincing
some sexual excitement. The
sexual approach may be on either
side but is more frequent on
the left. The near front foot
is sometimes used to administer
an upward blow on the belly.
The adult ram shot today had
part of the belly + the inside of
both forelegs heavily soiled apparently
from masturbation.
All ewes look to be in good
condition as do most of the rams.
Rams actively interested in 18 mos [months] ewes!
Sickness:- Today saw one old ram with
its right eye closed, a pinched appearance
of the flanks + a general listlessness
Shot this animal + found that the
lower eyelid of the right eye bore
a heavy scab + that the left eyelid
had been rubbed.
This animal had a suppurating
sinus in the right mandible
which is badly deformed
No fat on this animal.
