Census White estimates about 150 elk
around Decoigne another 150 between
Decoigne + Giekie [Geikie]. Possibly 500
along Miette Valley.

an ad [adult] [male symbol], 1 a spike with antlers
on 17 cows 4 calves
A band of 23 seen near Moberly
flats were very poor.

Census:- Today saw 7 elk near Talbot Lake
+ 86 on Henry House flats. Total 93 [underlined]
Determined were 28 [female symbol], 2 [male symbol] + 6 calves
at the same time I saw 11 horses. If
I can find out how many horses there are
all together I can use this as an index
