- abundant. Saw one rabbit but did
not take it. On the way home
saw 2 bats + 2 flying squirrels
+ took one of the latter.
Mr [Kenneth] Racey shot a young rabbit.

Traps held 3 Peromyscus.
Skinned until 10:30 then went
to town for some more
ammunition + a hair cut.
The barber (Mr Jack Green)
told us that there is a trail
up the Jordan River, then along
the Columbia + finally up onto
the summit. Here caribou
+ grizzly are plentiful - as are
goat further back. Goat also
plentiful on Mt [Mount] Cartier.
Thunderstorm in the evening
but set out 12 more traps
for flying squirrels.
Plants seen but not collected.
Alder, willow, amelanchier,
Epilobium angustifolium, cedar,
spruce, balsam, douglas fir,
False box, bracken, birch,
cottonwood, aspen. western
hemlock,
