Overcast, rain by p.m.
Hiked up the mountain behind camp
finding going harder than reported mainly
because we lost the trial. After 4 hrs [hours]
+ at the tree line we shot a hooter [grouse].
Also shot 2 [female symbol] hairy wood peckers. Clouds
closed in so we did some moss-lichen
collecting + slithered thru [through] the steep
soggy forest back to camp. Put Grouse 1400 grms. [grams]
in freezer. Now raining hard.
In the evening took off thru [through] the
drizzle to check traps. Found 1 [male symbol]
marten (532) in last trap, by smelly doe
gut bait. On other side of channel found
some otter runs + set 2 traps. Set 2
more marten traps.
