Traps did poorly owing
to heavy rain all night,
+ most of the day. Took
1 [male symbol Peromyscus + 1 [female symbol] Sorex
cinereus. + shot a squirrel.
The squirrels here are
confined almost entirely
to the spruce groves,
very few being found
in the stands of pine
+ none in the aspen.
Examined the food
cuttings at 2 pack rat
nests (see under Neotoma).
Set out a line of mouse
traps in the pine woods
on Mr Bennetts property.
