July 6. 1937. -
Weather dull - cold wind. Heavy rain during
late morning. Traps (new trap line south + east side to rockslides) produced one male perry [Peromyscus]
+ a red-back. The perry [Peromyscus] was an old adult animal
with well developed abdominal scent glands, but
a very small animal, the tail being only 79 m.m. [millimetres]
Shot a Junco (Schufeldts) + a Hermit Thrush at
foot of rock slide + saw three crossbills flying
overhead. Climbed straight up rock slide +
over top of mountain + back to camp. On top
saw 2 fox sparrows + a [male symbol] mountain Bluebird
Only saw one Cony in rock slide, was quite
silent. At top of this slide noted fresh marmot
tracks. Left camp about 9 a.m. + hunted
westerly slope down from Balsam + second lake
+ then crossed north westerly towards meadow
