Mts. [Mountains[ east of Vernon = Monashee on Gold Range.
Echo Lake [underlined] near Vernon - there was a
small colony of about a dozen
individuals in the mountains adjacent
to this lake as late as 1898 but
they were killed off shortly thereafter
Fall Creek [underlined] about 15 goats still
present around head of this creek
in 1897 - none there now.
Nickel Plate mine - Hedley, B.C. [British Columbia] There
was a small colony here in
the late 18 hundreds - present status
unknown.
Cherry Creek, Pinnacles at head of
Kettle River - some present in 1989
As late as 1920 a few goats
were present just below Edgewood
on the west side of the lake. There
is still a lick well frequented
by goats + deer a few miles below
Edgewood on the E [east] side of the lake.
In 1906 there were no goats
to be found on the mts. [mountains] between
Mabel Lake + Sugar Lake. All are
gone from Hunter's Range but
the mts [mountains] north of Sugar Lake
still bear Goats in fair numbers.
