He says 7 elk remained all
winter + that the group bothering
him was 20-30 strong
Largest groups seen 86 that
4 years ago.
Later saw Jim Lewis.
Reports about 40 elk ranging
between Kennedy Mt. [Mountain] + Sunday
Creek In 1945 +/- a group of
24 were at head of Tulameen R. [River]
on Granite Mt [Mountain]
Reports that in 1943 +/- before
Tate road was open he came across
a broad, recently used elk trail
coming down of [off] 3 Brothers +
proceeding S [South]. It crossed the
present road allowance west
of Allison Pass.
Banks saw 4 or 5 bulls near
Trapper Lake on E [east] side of
Paseyton [Paseyten] drainage
In 1947 hunting season
saw several groups of bulls
at head of Corral Creek + toward
Frenchy Creek.
Bud Currie told me of seeing
about 2 dozen animals along
the lower [illegible word] of China Creek
+ on the [illegible word] immediately N [north] of
Princeton.
