- Field. Aug [August] 4.
+ a Vaccinium [underlined] ? with large red berries
in small numbers were noted.
Ribes macropetata [underlined] is abundant locally.
The forest along the Ice River
is a mixture of spruce + aspen
with smaller quantities of pine.
On the S [South] facing slope from
just below Sodalite creek there are
some good grass slides + alder
slides coming right down to
river level.
Birds in the Beaverfoot
forest were chiefly Flycatcher (wrights?)
Canada jay, Golden cr. [crowned] kinglet, black
capped chickadee, + Ruffed Grouse.
Up the Ice River Hermit Thrush,
Varied Thrush, Junco, Audubon
Warbler + Hudsonian Chickadee were
noted.
Game Seen. 3 moose.
4 deer (white-tail)
1 coyote.

Drove up Yoho valley to end of road
+ then back + in to Emerald Lake.
