I am informed that the matter of native reserved areas is one of importance. The statement is made that certain white trappers would gladly leave the delta if they were given access to the reserves. I am told that there are only 11 more or less established camps on the Peel Reserve + even fewer in the Mackenzie Mountains. The Indians say that this is because there is nothing in the Reserves. By + large the Indians have the opinion that the white men have the best areas. It seems to me that the white men have such an accurate knowledge of local conditions that they can always pick the best areas. Some of the outstanding native trappers
