Took a young squirrel. It was
in a large cottonwood.
At about 5:30 in the morning
2 large mule deer, one 6 points
+ 1 + 2 points came out of the
bush about 8 ft [feet] away from
my mosquito bar. They could
not see through the netting
but I could see them perfectly.
They ate leaves of; willow, maple
cottonwood, and choke cherry.
The horns were out of the velvet.
After feeding for about 5 min. [minutes]
one of them scented me +
they both made off.
Aug [August] 24. [1929] Rayleigh Wet.
Shot a large Cooper's Hawk,
it had just finished eating
a sparrow.
Saw a marsh Hawk.
