an ad. [adult] bull.
The 2 yr [year] + 3 yr [year] bulls seen
both had antlers in the velvet
still + in color they were
dark, without pale neck + were
thus indistinguishable from cows
by color features.
The old bulls seen were both
medium brown with the neck
distinctly paler but not white,
greyish, like the so called Fannin
sheep saddle. Both had the
antlers clean + polished.
No sexual activity noted but there
was semen in the epididymis of
the bull collected. The herd organization
is loose as yet. In the group today
the cow + calf took alarm + fled for
the timber. Then another cow fled
back along the trail + the herd bull
+ 2 oth [word crossed out] other 2 cows stayed for 10
minutes or so before leaving
measurements.
