Mr French today tells me
that his captive mt [mountain] lions make
a variety of noises. The commonest
used by all ages + sexes is
a sharp whistle. When playing
with each other they make
a loud purring sound.
One that he trained to make
a 12 ft [foot] jump between
two pedestals to get his
meat used to scream
as he jumped. During
copulation both individuals
yowl + growl.
May 1, 1940.
Dissected intestine of mt [mountain] Lion,
sent in by A. Peake. In
small intest. [intestine] were 11 tape
worms. 6 Taenia hydatigena
+ 5 Taenia taeniaformis [taeniaeformis]
contents. meat of either deer
or sheep - feathers of blue
grouse.
