  • Bohemian waxwing Alta [part cut off when scanned] Lake, B.C. August 7, 1941. Took an adult male and later in the day found the female feeding large young. The nest is about 30' [feet] from the ground in a tall hemlock. It is situated at the end of the branch and overhangs the water. Male bird had crop full of blueberries. August 16, 1941. Young waxwings left nest. August 22, 1941. Saw another brood of well-grown young wax- wings with their parents. Nest of the first pair consists largely of Usnea with a few twigs and pieces of dry grass.
