- Black Breasted Plover [all underlined] #270
Squatarola squatarola cynosurae [all underlined]
April 21st to May 5th 1923. Many of
these birds were in evidence at Terra Nova
Lulu Island. All had gone by May 5th.
Flocks aggregating in all about
150 birds were seen flying up + down
the foreshore at Mud Bay near
George Donleys farm Oct [October] 15th Three of
which were taken. A week previously
several flocks were seen by Mr.
Skill near the sand bank on
the westerley side of Boundary Bay.
Nov. [November] 4th 1923 Three were seen sitting
on mud bar + flew by our blind.

Several seen on mud flats +
numerous flocks 5 to 15 birds in air
over fields. One flock of 146 seen
in field by road nine.

A flock of about seventy of these
birds seen about 4 p.m. They came
over the dyke + flew into a field about
a quarter of a mile beyond the first
church.
