Cranbrook. June 7 cont [continued]
The N [north] bank of Bull River down as far
as the bridge is all bighorn range
used almost year long. There are
many natural licks
Flora is as described above.
Grass everywhere heavily used. It is
reported that a large band of horses
15-17 head wintered out on this
area + that cattle concentrate on it
in the spring + autumn. No Agropyron.
A small herd of domestic sheep is
supposed to range S [south] of the river but
does stray onto the bighorn range.
A specimen of Charina bottae taken.
Game Seen.
Sheep 1 [male symbol] of 2 yrs [years]
1 [male symbol] yrl. [yearling]
10 ad [adult] [female symbol] 1 newborn lamb (about 3 days
13 yrl [yearling] [female symbol]
3 2 1/2 yrl [yearling] [female symbol]
All are moulting the non pregnant
[female symbol]'s most. Saw 3 [female symbol]'s definitely
pregnant. Watched a yrl. [yearling] mule deer
doe lick the lamb sheep
