  • Campbell River, Nov. [November] 20/40 [1940] Fork + 3 pt [point] buck shot as above skin + head brought to me. A few Lipoptena still alive after animal dead 6 days. Dermacentor albipictus [underlined] abundant about one per 2 sq [square] in [inch] Watched one attached + engorged nymph shed its skin + emerge as an adult on the host. Others seen lead me to believe that this is characteristic. Pupa [word crossed out] nymph. attaches, engorges, goes into resting stage + transforms into adult. No lice, or nose fly. Weight hunter dressed 89 lbs. [pounds]
