London, Paris, Nice, Monte-Carlo etc, I’ve paid for it many times over, though, haven’t I?
Have "been wondering who it was in our unit who informed Charlie Mitchell that I was in hospital with sore feet. Lid he elaborate on it himself? Was unable to wear hoots for several weeks without suffering pain, hut it never reached the hospital stage.
You certainly seem to he into the G.W.V.A,’s work with both feet. More running- about that you’ve done for years. I’ll bet. It is a worthy object though, so keep up the good work,!
So Marjorie has glommed onto my "Zambrene" eh? Am surprised that she resisted the temptation as long as she did. Sure, she is welcome to it, and if there is any of my wardrobe left that Lad fancies, why hop to it,- Might just as well make a good job of it, while you’re at it. Ho sarcasm intended.
Well, folks, I want to write a couple more letters this evening, so will have to bring this chat to a close. Will probably be able to make it a longer one next time,

Lear Mother and Lad,-
Guess it is about time tha.t I bestirred myself and started this letter, for I’ve been nack on the job for two days now, Naturally I’m mighty glad to be back with the boys again- naturally I said. That is the one thing I detest about leaving,, the coming back again.
Well, I hardly know how to start my yarn about our trip, but will say right nowthat it won’t be as long winded as the last one. Too much graft. In all we had 14 days clear down in Cannes and Nice, and also managed to stay a. couple of days in Paris on the way back, our entire trip taking 20 'days. Hot bad for a 14 day leave eh? Prettynice weather here at present, so that helps some.
Was very glad to get away from the town in which we were billeted, for Pritz had been paying it quite a. bit of attention with his long range gun, coming so close the morning we left as to break the window in our room, Hext day, Christie- one of our gang, managed to stop a piece with his jaw, and is now across in Blighty,
