Feby [February] 9th 1924. One of these birds seen
at Terra nova flying along foreshore

under 200 yds [yards] when it flew + joined
a flock of Lesser Snow Geese feeding
further along the beach. Apparently
a young bird but fully grown, about
the same colour as the [female symbol] juv [juvenile] given
me by Game Dept. [Department]
Nov. [November] 13/24 [1924] One of these birds, a large [female symbol]
found dead by a friend. measured
7' [feet] 2 1/2 in extent by 4' [feet] 2 1/2 long. Flocks
of from 7 to 9 birds quite frequent

about 400 swans are outside Sea +
Lulu Islands + that two hunters with
10 ga [gauge] guns killed nineteen a few days
previously.
A flock of nine birds [word crossed out] swan stayed for
two or three weeks in a farmers field
(Mr [space left blank]) near Ladner. Mr Whalen
of the S.W. [southwest] Paint Co. [company] saw them on Nov [November] 1st
+ also saw a man named Smith shoot
one. The authorities apprehended Smith
+ he was fined, the swan, a young bird
I saw in Mr Butters office.

states that when on steamer opposite
Adams River just below Alert Bay
he saw a flock of 50 to 60 swan flying
southward bucking a strong headwind
