- During a session with Mr Simpson + Mr I Mac
Cormick of Scottish Agric [Agricultural] Industries I learned that they
had destroyed their file on deer food expts. [experiments]

memory he tells me the New Zealand plant they
analyzed was Grisellinea littoralis.
Their diet contained

2% CaO
2% P2O5
P. A + D supplement.
Protein was 1/2 fish meal (white) with its oil in
some low temp [temperature] sheep fibrinogen was added.
Bonemeal made from whole bone + its marrow
about 8% oil content in diet
Oct [October] 23. Sat in on a most informative dept [departmental] meeting at

Oct [October] 25/52 [1952]. Today addressed the Royal Society of Edinburgh
on the Subject "The Origin of the Vertebrate Fauna of
Western North America". It being the annual
business meeting + the first of the season there
was a full house. The talk seemed well
received + satisfied me - usually a good sign.
Prof. [Professor] James Kendall MA., B.Sc., LLD., F.R.S. was in the
chair completing his 21st year on the council
