Drizzle.
No marten so moved 5 traps.
Caught 3 Peri [Peromyscus] + 1 Sorex.
In afternoon hiked up to the top
of the mountain into the clouds. Drenched
in the rain. Bear dung common. Excellent
ridge led to the top + knife like ridges
leading east and west. Slopes succulent
with grass. Shot pipit + [female symbol] red x bill [crossbill].
Got good collection of mosses + lichen. Got
back after supper. Had almost changed
plans today so could be home for T-bone
steak supper. Felt surely Henry would
save us the steaks: but no, he threw 6
T-bones to the Ravens! Sob.!
June 27
Nothing in marten traps, much to
our surprise. So must be satisfied with
the 4 we've got. Caught 8 mice near
camp. Low tide so good mollusc collection.
Plane should have been in for us in evening
but gave up by 10:00 + started for bed.
Half in bed plane roared over. Hasty
pack into plane. Beautiful ride over mountains
with scraps of cloud - + a full moon.
Camped by Copper R. [River] 10 deer en route
