Breeding.
One 18 mos [months] ewe appeared to be coming
into heat. She urinated frequently +
stood in front of each ram that
approached her. Every ram she passed
showed interest in her, by smelling
her genitals but none attempted
copulation.
Shalebanks:- June 2/44. [1944]
Saw 3 sheep on shalebank about
4 miles up stream on west side.
Jasper. June 5/44 [1944]
Saw a band of sheep at the Sulphur
Springs near Snaring Station. It consisted
of 2 ad [adult] [male symbol] 1 2 yr [year] [male symbol], 13 [female symbol] (one 2 yr [year]), 2 yr. [year]
1 newborn lamb.
Banff. June 8/44 [1944]
One June 6 we saw 7 bighorn rams
around the base of Mt [Mount] Wilcox, at
the icefields chalet + just below it.
Today we saw just 1, 6 yr [year]
ram at 5 mile west.
Disease In April H.U. [Hubert Unsworth] Green counted 97
sheep west, one old [male symbol] had an open
ulcer draining from its jaws

Found remains of a good 9 year old
ram on S. [South] face of Mt [Mount] Bourgeau. Horns
40" + 41". Bruce Mitchell reports
seeing sheep there in winter.
