Worked #1 Lake again but with
very poor results. High wind
+ cold night made the rats inactive
+ centred their activity on a piece
of lake shore we could trap only
with difficulty took just 3 rats
+ one drowned itself.

This evening trapped # 6 Lake
a couple of miles up river from
the cabin. A steep sided lake that
had flooded only a little. Two bays
bore heavy fringes of Carex aquatilis [underlined]
+ in these the rats had been
feeding actively on the stem bases
+ roots. Took 5 rats 2 of which
drowned.
