when at realized it was seen it ran

appear. It entered a stream + despite
entangling debris it got across +
went on its way.
One yearling cow moose seen.
Went in to Whites Dam, about 3
miles up Johnson Creek. There we found
a large beaver lodge + a smaller one
The lake, about 3 acres or slightly more
is supported by a beaver dam at least
5 ft [feet] high. Further up the lake is
a longer dam about 30" high +
beyond that another 15" or so high
No lodges in the upper dams.
Set 3 Bailey traps, 2 at the second
dam + the other a baited set near
the big lodge.
Saw a white-tail doe
Invermere. June 9, 1955
Took a yearling beaver in the baited
trap. The dam set had been sprung
but was defective. Repaired + reset it
also repaired + set the 4th trap.
Saw on this lake a brood of 9 young
mallards about 2 weeks old. 2 prs [pairs]
baldpate 6 non breeding [female symbol] plumaged
goldeneye. 3 extra mallards. 2 ruffed
grouse. Found a robin's nest 4/ [illegible word]
