Brazeau Lake. July 31/43 [1943]
Beginning near the lower end of the
lake + extending round the corner + to about
1 mile below the cabin the mountainside
have a good acreage of S [south] + W [west] facing
grassland that blows clear in the
winter. Jim [James Simpson] tells me that about 30
head of sheep used to winter on these
patches. Signs indicate that about the
same population still exists.
There are some other wind blown
slopes across the rivers - On these a
small band winters. A few winter
on the s [south] face of the mountain in the
angle between the Brazeau Rivers N. [north] + w [west] forks,
Kills:- hiked the gully opposite the cabin.
Found 1 15 yr [year] old [male symbol] 37", teeth worn, Alveoli
cancellous but no actinomycosis 1941-42
1 14 yr [year] old [male symbol] 3", teeth worn but not
diseased. Mandible not found. 1940-41.
1 Skel. [Skeleton] presumed [female symbol] 1941-42
1 scapula " [female symbol] 1942-43
1 mandible " [male symbol] good condition 1940-41
An old ram 15 to 16 yrs [years], skull at cabin.
39" with heavy base 9 very broad tips
teeth worn. 2 upper premolars on right side
necrotic

Lake cabin, about 5 miles East + 7 miles
east + not again until Isaac Creek.
