- May 21/63. [1963] Bull Harbour B.C. [British Columbia]
Got up at 5 to get the early tide. Jim [Genge]
+ I worked the rock outcrops along the
W. [west] shore with fair success. Garry [Cowan]
+ Dick positioned[?] further up the bay.
Left anchorage at 09:30 + went
out a few miles outside Nahwittie [Nahwitti] Bar
buoy. Here we used both the large
dredges + the trawl with fair success.
Came in for wind about 17:00 hrs [hours]
May 22 [underlined] [1963] Port Alexander
This A.M. [morning] worked the low tide at
Roller Bay, Hope Isl [Island] B.C.
This proved interesting but not as
good as I had expected.
In the P.M. [evening] had some excellent
results between Cape James and Pine
Island.
May 23/63 [1963] Port Alexander: The intertidal on the E [east] side of the
bay + the small rock outcrops at the head of the bay
proved to be good.
On eelgrass at the head were Lacuna variegata,
on the rock, among many Tonicella liniata [lineata] I found
one T. [Tonicella] insignis [underlined]. On the Laminaria [underlined] along the E [east] side
Margarites helicina [underlined] was common to 2' [feet] above low
water. On the biggest rocks where they
entered the sandy substrate I took several specimens
