Brazeau Lake. Cabin. July 31/43 [1943]
Left our camp in 'the basin' at 10:30
+ came down here in 4 1/2 hours. Down
the river to the lake the meadowland
was dominated by the shrubby cinquefoil
+ perennial delphinium - both in full
bloom. The dark blue + gold making
a brilliant contrast. Around the
lake the grassland on dry W. [West] + S [South]
facing slopes is dominated by downy
wild rye + wild oats as it was
on Mt [Mount] Bourgeau.
E. [East] of the cabin down the river about
a mile the aspen parkland begins
In the meadows clumps of willows
