Weights June 3, 8 1/2 lbs [pounds] each. Doe
refused to own [male symbol] fawn.
Two year old [female symbol] Trixie single [female symbol] fawn June 6 4 P.M.

Two weeks old [male symbol] Sandy brought
to Island by [R.S.] Hayes weighed 7 lbs [pounds] at
that age - quite poor.
Calls. Trixies fawn called to its
mother repeatedly with a thin
squeak, just such as made by blowing
a piece of grass between ones fingers.
These fawns on this date are
following their mothers everywhere.
Are still nursing but eat
all manner of green food
avidly.
Molt. The two bucks are still in the
velvet but are beginning to
shed the summer coat on
the neck + shoulders. Does are
not beginning the molt yet.
The old buck caught his antlers
on the fence + tore quite a strip
of velvet off the top, it bled profusely
