Senses.
Came upon 3 does + a few [word crossed out] yearling
feeding in open, closest one about
25 yards from me. Wind in
my face. I was in view
of the deer for 15 minutes as
they slowly fed toward me.
Only my head was visible
to them, but I moved frequently
adjusting telescope, taking notes
etc. [etcetera] + yet none saw me
even when facing me.
Wind shifted + carried my scent
to nearest doe. She stopped as
if struck + wheeled away from
me with the hairs on her
rump + tail elevated, but
tail only slightly arched + not
elevated. Trotted off downhill
followed by other two does.
Yearling fed for 5 minutes
longer then trotted off to
join does 200-300 yards away.
They were standing + looking
back uphill. When yearling
joined them all ran off.

Buck feeding, doe standing
yearling lying down, uphill from
me + in full view. I think
