on the shore of the lake. It was
eating Jack pine cones when shot
+ piles of similar cone fragments
showed these to be the usual diet

Squirrels abundant in the Jack pine
+ spruce bordering the muskegs.

Took [male symbol] Douglas Squirrel with a
large epidermal tumor on point of
left hip + two smaller ones at
base of tail. Photographed this
+ sent glycerine material to New York.
