Glaucomys sabrinus fuliginosus
Alta Lake. B.C. [British Columbia] Dec. [December] 22./35/ [1935] A large [male symbol] taken
in rat trap set on platform on side of Cedar
tree on margin of swamp above Camp. Cedar
tree hollow + apparently the only entrance is
about 5 ft [feet] from ground where a hole has been
cut through to the interior, at a place where at
some time a cut had been made with an
axe through the trunk. Platform was made
just under entrance + trap placed on this
This is specimen no. [number] 1431. Pelt prime.
Heavy fur - animal very fat. Testis
17 m.m. [millimeters] - 333-144-44
Specimen no [number] 1425 given to me by Bill Bailiff
is also a large [male symbol] with measurements of 342-157-45
Testis 9.5 mm. [millimeters] It was taken in marten
trap set on Sproat Mtn [mountain] at an alt [altitude] of
about 3500 ft. [feet] Very fat.
Alta Lake B.C. [British Columbia] Aug. [August] 17. 1937 Found very few
signs about this part of hillside. One taken in rat
trap above camp escaped. Today took a [female symbol] half
way over to rock slide. Trap was set on sloping log. This
specimen no [number] 1614 has the following dimensions 340.155.43
Sproat Mtn. [mountain] Sept. [September] 11 1937 Two females
taken in rat traps this a.m. [morning] 1 ad [adult] + other juv [juvenile]
The ad. [adult] a large animal, had broken wire
holding trap + was about 25 ft. [feet] below log
on which trap was set. These were taken just
below Horstman's cabin on different
sides of creek.
