Census:- At Talbot Lake 28 [female symbol], 3 l. [lambs] 7 [male symbol]
Here + at the Rocky there has been one
wolf active during the last 3 months
or so of the winter.
At Rocky 36 [female symbol], 12 l. [lambs], 7 [male symbol]
Disease:- All seemed to be in reasonably
good condition, but the older rams
were noticeably thinner than the rest
of the sheep.
Alec [Alex] Nelles reports that early
in March he saw an old ram out
on Henry House flats. a few days
later he found it lying dead of
natural causes.

On Buffalo Prairie saw 2 rams.
" May 5/45.
At Lime kiln [underlined] 5 mi [miles] W [west] of Jasper on ridge
a mile further north counted 12 [female symbol]'s,
6 lambs + 12 [male symbol]'s. Of the last 14 yr [years],
2 2 yr [year] + 2 1 yr. [year] (= 23 mos [months]) others 5 yrs [years] +
Smallest lamb was very small, not
over half the bulk of the largest.
It made one attempt to nurse.
At Mile 14 [underlined] 4 [female symbol] 2 l. [lambs] one very [illegible word]
+ taken for examination.
