- Ovis canadensis [underlined]
Jasper, Alta [Alberta] April 19/43. [1943]
with accompanying overgrowth of
corresponding teeth.
Frank Wells tells me of finding an
old ram with sores around
the lips + in the mouth. His description
indicates necrobacillosis [underlined].
Phillips reported 2 sheep with
scale at Banff between 1914 + 1915
Devona. April 18/43 [1943]
Saw 5 rams on hillside 1 mile west of cabin
+ 8 [female symbol] 1 lamb on bluff across the Snake
Indian
Devona. April 19.
7 young rams together (3 to 5 years)
constitute a bunch not before counted
Near "Burma Road" point 36 sheep
were grazing across the flat. Of these
8 were 2 yearling [ling crossed out] rams, 6 were
lambs + the rest were ewes under
+ over 2 years. I do not think
that this bunch had been counted
before
Behind Snaring 6 rams in a bunch
only 1 of which is already present
in my tally.
Distance Snaring to Devona 8-9 miles
Miette River April 20/43 [1943]
One very old ram and one 6 year old
on the north side of the river. The old
one was dark + sluggish, the younger pale + peppy.
