Aug [August] 14/50 [1950] Mohun Lake.
Southeast winds to gale force all
day with driving rain. Went to
Campbell River on business + then
out to the Bendell's camp at
Quinsam River. All was going
well there with about 125 birds
banded + a lot of excellent
information gathered.
Returned to camp about 5 o'clock.
Aug [August] 15 Mohun Lake
Cleared but remained overcast
most of the day. Variable wind.
In morning surveyed Deer
Plot #2. It starts from the
W [West] side of the road a few hundred
yards s [south] of the junction of the
cabin road with Morton Lake road
+ leads S.W. [southwest] toward the small
lake. 12 ft [feet] x 363 ft [feet]
21 pellet groups, 3 of them recent.
Plot #3 On old road along shore
of upper Campbell Lake E [east] of S [south] end
of Gosling Lake. Line up large
solitary lobstick on lake shore
+ similar tree on crest of ridge
N [north] of road. Plot starts at
20 ft [feet] Jack pine lobstick about
300 yds [yards] N [north] of road + proceeds
