Saw 1 [male symbol] 1 [female symbol] 2 calves in a group
bedded on an alder slide near
Yoho camp.
Field B.C. [British Columbia] Aug. [August] 2/44 [1944].
Along the Shore of Sherbrooke Lake saw
a group of elk consisting of 1 spike
bull, 4 cows, 3 yearling cows + 2 calves.
There was a great deal of elk sign
along the Sherbrooke Creek trail.
The largest band Tocher has
seen numbered 38.
A band spent part of last winter
right at Field + used to sun
themselves on the golf course.
