Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] saw "lots of" Western tanagers,
and found 2 European Starlings'
nests. He watched crows being
harried by Brewers blackbirds.
Nancy [Mahoney] saw 3 pairs of Ruby-
crowned Kinglets with the [male symbol] [male symbol]
crests erect, along the shores of
Westwick. I spent the evening
talking to Gerry Frizzie [Frizzy]. Barbara,
the little blonde girl, is her
sister's daughter.
There has been a large increase
in the grebe population, and
they are swimming together in
large groups.

Weather: cloudy, clearing in the
afternoon.
I went into town to buy groceries.
Hillary Place, the stage driver,
is also chairman of the local
school board. Groceries bought at
[illegible word], Rife and Pigeon are delivered
to Alf Eagles' barber shop, where they
are picked up by the Dog Creek
Stages.
Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] went looking for a Goldeneyes'
nest up behind the ranch. He
