  • Hyla [tree frog] Aug [August] 31/42 [1942] Royal Oak pond was visited in connection with Amphibian section picture and was found to be done dry. "August" title was taken. Pond behind Lohbrunners was also visited + found to be dry, even the deep hole. Young Hyla of the year were abundant as many as 3 were seen sitting together on one blade of sword grass and as many as a dozen were seen in one small bush. Nearly all were in the shade - too dark to photograph, so a dozen or so were collected + taken to the Museum to be photographed later.
