July 24, 1964. Drew Harbour, Quadra Island.
Arrived here about 18:00 after
a first rate sail, 13 knot wind + our
big spinnaker really working. This
is a most interesting harbour on what
looks like a good island. Both Quadra
+ Cortez [Cortes] are relatively low with an
open forest.
Spent the morning on Marina
Island at Shark Spit, then fished the
narrow channel + caught 5 good
fish. One 10, 8, 6, 4 + 2 lbs. [pounds]
Joyce caught the 8 lb [pound] - a scrappy fish
I took the 10, 6 + 2 on a silver +
brass #2 McKnight spoon.
Birds + mammals: Lots of marbled murrelets, no yng [young].
Deer + squirrels on Cortez [Cortes], + Hernando.
