flocks of these birds seen right
in the pass but nowhere else
along the route from Victoria
to Vancouver.
Quamichan Lake. Aug [August] 19/39 [1939].
80 +/- resting on the water
Mill Bay. Aug [August] 21/39 [1939].
About 300 in a single flock
opposite the booming grounds.
Only a few still had the black
head.
Active Pass. April 19, 1940.
About 2000-3000 of these
gulls feeding in the eddys.
