9 miles up the valley.

Two golden eagles flew over camp
just before sundown.
Bryant Cr. [Creek] June 14/43 [1943]
Saw an eagle at Marvel lake + later
in the day while I was hunting goat
an eagle circled low over the group
of 4 goats two or 3 times + then moved
off.

Heard an eagle calling near trail to
Mystic Lake.
Siffleur R. [River] July 16/43 [1943]
[James (Jim)] Simpson saw an eagle today + reports
that there used to be a nest on the
cliff on E. [east] side of valley almost at
park boundary. May still be there.
Pipestone Pass - July 17/43 [1943]
Saw 2 golden eagles on the ground
on the pass. Apparently after ground-
squirrels.
Brazeau Basin July 29/43 [1943]
Saw an eagle in Jonas Pass.
Cairn Cabin. Aug. [August] 4/43 [1943]
Saw an eagle S.W. [southwest] of here on uplands
apparently hunting whistlers.
