- Journal Aug [August] 20/43 [1943]
summer on the head of the Sulphur.
Good goat range winter + summer.
There seems to be a very low
rate of reproduction here in all game.
Perhaps the wolves are getting the
young. It appears to me that in
as much as this area is at best
lightly stocked with sheep, deer +
caribou + as the wolves here also
range out of the park it might
be well to attempt wolf control
here. Scattered rain showers - overcast.
Game seen:- Deer 5
Moose 2
Caribou 2.
Goat 24. All but 1 seen yesterday
Topaz Shelter. Aug. [August] 21/43. [1943]
Today went up to natural arch
again to bring in rest of the caribou
shot yesterday, to go over the range
for plants + to have a look for
that bunch of goats. Rained off + on
all day. Worked on caribou parasite
examination.
Saw only 1 caribou - seen yesterday
1 goat " "
