- Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke July 9.
The north side of the mountain
is quite different from the
south, + west slopes. Here
the forest is more open
with many small swampy
meadows, the willow comes
up the streams almost to
6000'. There are several
large open meadows of
grass, sedge + erythronium
through wich [which] flow streams
with their attendant vegetation.
Only the steepest parts
have azalea + blueberries.
These plants seem to grow
better on the drier hillsides
of the south slope.
Incidentally the S. [South] slopes
have been burned over large
areas many years ago.
July 10, 1937. Eva Lake, Revelstoke Park, B.C. [British Columbia]
Today we came over from
Balsam Lake - about 5 1/2 miles by
trail. Bright sunshine all
day. We left Balsam Lake at
9 AM + with some delays
en route arrived here before
noon.
After lunch I ran out
some mouse traps around
