Waterton Lake July 16/45 [1945]
Picked up skull of female moose at
Crandell Lake. Killed in a slide in
winter of 1943-44.
According to Mr Riggall, long time
resident + guide there have always
been a few moose in this country
but three years ago they began to
be abundant. He thinks that the
excellent trails in the forest
reserves have speeded the movement
south.
According to Warden Hollroyd there
were 15 moose, counting calves, in
the Cameron Lake area last summer.
