36 mi [miles] S [south] of Aklavik. Aug. [August] 14/47 [1947]
At last a fine day, cloudy in
the AM but intermittent sunshine
in later afternoon + improving by
late evening. Minimum temp [temperature] 36 [degree symbol],
Max. [Maximum] 60 [degree symbol]
This morning we lifted our
traps + collected some aquatic
plants.
This afternoon worked on
dissections.
Waterfowl 42 widgeon.
Aklavik. Aug. [August] 15/47 [1947].
Came in from Lang's today
+ busied ourselves preparing my
equipment + specimens for
shipment. The summer field
work is over for me + I shall
be most happy to get back
home. For really comfortable
work along the river one should
have a shallow draft boat
with living + laboratory
accommodation on it.
